Ride Rite Project

In a team of five, my peers and I set out to motivate healthy and energetic elderly people to go out and stay active. Regular exercise can improve mood, prevent chronic disease, lower chances of injury, improve Alzheimer’s and Dementia, and fight heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. 

 

We found that biking has a wide variety of benefits that are useful to the elderly. After researching and interviewing we began designing an interface for biking handlebars that would enhance safety while biking.

 

In the future, we see Ride-Rite going from a handlebar and interface attachment to a whole smart biking system. We set out to make biking safer and more accessible to the elderly, but we believe our design can benefit everyone.
