Tape Dispenser Quick Fire

The best way to start off the next semester and get your creative juices flowing is a quick-fire project. In two weeks I was tasked to design and build a working tape dispenser model.  While looking at concrete furniture designers Hannah Plumb and James Russell, a married couple who work under the name JAMESBLUMB, I wondered what kind of stationary items they would put in an office of their design. I came up with a minimalist design that is assembled at of pretty simple pieces. The pieces consist of two short wooden dowels, one with a slit in the middle, perforated metal, and a concrete base. The finished product allows the role of tape to be easily replaced and accommodates both right and left-handed users.
